Car Make, Model and Color Recognition
Problem
Identify a vehicle’s make, model, and colour from a single traffic frame. The classes differ by a grille, a badge, or a tail light cluster — and half the time the car is moving away from the camera.
Approach
Fine-grained classification tuned for the classes that actually differ by a grille badge or a tail light cluster, trained on traffic imagery rather than catalogue photography.
Result
Shipped as a commercial vehicle analytics capability alongside license plate recognition.
